T2i vs T3i

There is no difference in picture quality between the two cameras. Both are 18.0 MP and use the CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 Image Processor. So the image quality for still images shot on full automatic will be identical.

Also there will be no difference in the video footage with both cameras featuring the Improved EOS Full HD Movie mode with manual exposure control, expanded recording with new Movie Digital zoom

The optically stabilized 18-55mm lens kit on the T3i is marginally different looking than that of the T2i. However that is cosmetic only. The quality and performance is the same for both cameras.

Both cameras boast the 3.7 fps continuous shooting with up to approximately 6 RAW or approximately 34 JPEGs.

Both cameras take the full range of Canon EF and EF-S lenses

So five fairly major features of the two cameras have been compared and there are both essentially the same. Is there really any difference? Yes indeed. Read on to discover one of the biggest differences between the two cameras and possibly one of the best pieces of engineering on a digital camera today. What I am talking about of course is what Canon describe as the Vari-angle 3.0-inch Clear View LCD monitor. In plain English the viewing screen folds out and can tilt up and down. This give the user a a T3i a huge advantage of the owner of a T2i.

This tilt and swivel screen makes it so easy for taking shots that are very difficult without it. Very low to the ground with the T2i and you are almost on your belly trying to see in the screen and forget completely about trying to get your eye up to the viewfinder. That wont work either. Grab the T3i, flip out the screen and adjust the tilt to just the right angle so you can see it when you are holding the camera down. You may not even need to kneel.

Shooting high above peoples heads or trying to sneak a photo over a fence or the like (paparazzi here we come!) Same thing, flip out the screen, tilt it to the right angle, lift the camera up with one hand and position while looking at the screen which you can easily see. Shoot away.

When looking at the T2i vs T3i this reason alone makes the T3i the one to get.
